Robert Stephen founded the studio in 2000 with a practical, hands-on approach to jewellery making. His work is guided by judgement — knowing when to refine a detail, when to simplify a setting and when a gemstone should lead the design.
Across one-off jewellery and technically demanding insurance replacement work, the focus remains the same: proportion, material, setting, finish and the durability required for a piece intended to be worn.

Gemstones and precious metals are selected with quality, suitability and longevity in mind. A beautiful material still has to work as part of a piece that can be worn and enjoyed.
The studio has a particular passion for opals and fine gemstones. Their colour, structure and individuality often become the starting point for the design rather than an element added at the end.
